As a college student, more than ever my faith is tested. Every day, troubles arise from classes, work, or the endless cycle young adults can go through. I’ve learned that life is all about perception, the better your outlook is on the world, the better you will feel. Life is a choice, and when I say that, the way you choose to live your life is up to you, so choose wisely. Here are a couple verses to live by, or look upon when you’re looking for the brighter side of something.
“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” -Psalms 37:4
Although this verse seems like you must love the Lord and then you’ll get a reward, I think it’s just saying that God has a path for you, and if you trust in him and follow his path, there will always be a happy ending in the future.
“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”- Isaiah 12:3
I personally love this verse, the more joyful you are in your life, the more you will feel firm in your faith and grateful in your life. Life’s simplest pleasures are brought on by the time and effort you choose to put into them.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”-Matthew 5:8
Simply that, blessed are the pure in heart. Living out a full and true life will bring nourishment in your future. Life’s fortunes are bound by the Grace you give.
“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”- 1 John 3:18
I think this is an extremely powerful statement. In life, today more than ever, actions have a powerful statement. They are behind the movements today. But remember, don’t just act, act in truth.
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”- Ephesians 5:15-16
THIS. Every day we are faced with choices, obstacles, and fights that we must act on. Be careful to how you act, make every opportunity worth the day it was spent on. Basically, live your life fully!
“Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.”- Proverbs 21:21
Live your life as you see fit, but live it in a way that you will be proud of. Be able to look back and not be ashamed, but happy at the roads you have taken, the paths you have paved.
