When someone says "I live in my sorority house" most people make a face and wonder how the heck do you survive living in a house with 50 crazy girls for a whole year? I remember when I signed my papers to live in the house and I was so nervous. I heard "you are going to love living in" and then I also heard "you are going to hate it." I was very skeptical about it and I was scared I was going to going crazy living with that many girls. Little did I know, this year living in the house would be one of the most amazing and fun year of my life.

I moved into my sorority house not being super close and knowing a good amount of girls in my pledge class. I remember my parents driving away and having a pit in my stomach. My best friends from freshman year were mostly in other sororities so I was nervous. Of course I did have a few good friends living in the house but there were a lot I wasn't very close with yet. Within one week of living in (during work week), we all became so close, so fast. As cheesy as it sounds it felt like all of us have been best friends for years all ready when we only became close in literally a week.

First of all, I didn't realize living in means you have TONS of closets to look through for some cute outfits. I catch myself going days without wearing my own clothes sometimes (oops). It is also funny when we have caught like 5 of us owning the same shirt or dress. If you need a weird costume for a date dash or social, there is no doubt that someone in the house has the perfect outfit for you to borrow.

I was nervous about sharing a bathroom with tons of people because I hate getting ready in the morning in a bathroom that is super crowded, but that isn't the case. Everyone is very respectful of each others space, time, and stuff. Everyone asks if they can borrow each others curler, straighter, etc.. And everyone knows not to be loud and obnoxious in the morning because a good majority of us are not morning people. I also love how music is ALWAYS playing in the bathroom and how everyone has different tastes in music so I can hear new songs and artists.

One of my favorite things about living in is that I have a buddy for almost everything. There is always someone who is down to go to the gym or will go get Chipotle or Sonic with you. Even if you want to go hike in the middle of the day or go out on a Wednesday night, someone is always there to go with you. Movie nights in our TV room have turned into weird dance parties and they have turned into some of the most memorable nights.

Something I heard tons of older girls talking about is talking at the front table in the kitchen for hours. I can't even think about the amount of late nights all of us have sat at the front table talking for hours and hours about the most random things until we realize it is like 2 in the morning. You catch yourself talking about one thing and the next thing you know five more girls have sat down and the conversation never seems to end. I have heard some of the saddest and also some of the funniest stories at that front table.

Living in the house is sleep overs every night with your best friends. With how fast second semester is going, I can't even think about our last night living in the house. I have learned so much about life and myself living in. I would recommend living in a sorority house to anyone because you become close with girls you would never think you would become close with. It has been such an amazing experience and I have loved every moment of it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
