What I Learned After Attending A Trump Rally

Maybe we do have a problem on our hands?

What I Learned After Attending A Trump Rally

"Make America great again."

"Build a wall."

All of these exaggerated promises have one thing in common- no plan. He promises great things, but fails to explain how he will follow through with these. Although, not by any means is a wall what I would consider the best idea.

As a political science major, I have tried my hardest to give Donald Trump the utmost respect and hear him out on his issues. Although I affiliate with a certain party, I have tried my hardest to listen to each candidate and then chose which one to support. I even recently attended a Trump rally nearby, but it's clear he's not the candidate for me.

Maybe it was the fact that people in his campaign played a cry baby song for President Obama, in response to his tears during the gun control speech, while he was discussing Newtown. Sickening to say the least, since several innocent children lost their lives that day. Or perhaps it was the way all of his supporters in attendance said a prayer thanking Jesus for the presence of Donald J Trump. Now I'm religious, but I know there's a strict line between church and state and it was crossed. In addition, one of his campaign people said, "We are going to make sure the radical religion of Islam won't destroy America." Wow. It's perturbing to think that a man who could possibly become the next president of America genuinely believes we are at war with a religion instead of radical extremists. Both completely different things.

If this didn't already do it for me, then maybe it was the fact that each word out of his mouth seemed to either boost his ego or tear down an opponent.

If you asked me what I learned at his rally, I would say absolutely nothing. He only mentioned the wall and bringing more jobs to America from China. How either of these will be carried out is beyond me. These seem like empty promises, which will follow just as those before him who have promised so much and carried out so little.

So, if you prefer a candidate who does all of these things as well as asks you to check your first amendment at the door, then boy, do I have the guy for you. But, if you would rather have a more promising, and well-valued President, then I may suggest looking into another candidate in either party. Honestly, at this point, I wouldn't mind anyone but Trump.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
