Things You Will Learn Freshman Year As Told By The Office

Freshman year is full of new experiences, you will either love them or hate them. Now being a sophomore, I wish I would've had a forewarning of what I was getting myself into during my freshman year. Here are a few things you will learn throughout your freshie year!

1. You will be broke

From the 2 am pizza orders to the books you need for that Biology class, there is a high chance you will be looking for change in your futon at least once a month.

2. The dorms are loud at night

People don't realize that there are people trying to sleep at midnight, so they will blast their EDM music.

3. You won't like everyone you meet

You will clash with people more than you think, but thats okay..it's life.

4. Ask for help when needed

Go to your professors, advisors, or RA's if you need help! That's what they're there for!

5. Be sure to listen to your professors

I mean, they're the ones who designed the curriculum..

6. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE

It's Sunday, and you have a 3 page paper due at 11:59 pm...bet you wish you would've started it on Wednesday instead of watching Netflix.

7. Getting locked out of your dorm will happen more then you think

It's the worst when you're in your towel too..

8. Parties are fun

They're loud, crazy and full of random people but so worth it. & ALWAYS be careful.

9. The food gets old

It's exactly like high school food, so cherish homemade meals.

10. Freshman 15 is a thing

Delivery is a very dangerous thing especially on college campuses..most places are open until 3 am so be sure to check out your REC center!

11. The boys are the exact same no matter what they say

We all know it's true..

12. Professors will help you

GO TO OFFICE HOURS! They will help you when you need it, thats what office hours is for.

13. You'll always have people in your dorm

Your friends, your roommates friends, and random people from your dorm hall will be going in and out of your room, trust me.

14. Don't skip classes even if it's boring

Powerpoint is boring, but what's on that powerpoint will be on your next exam.

15. It's okay to be homesick

It's weird being away from home after living there for 18 years...everyone gets homesick at some point.

16. TRY NEW THINGS

Because you could find a new passion that way.

17. Be YOU

You're an amazing person and always remember that!

College is a culture shock for most people. But like I said, freshman year is the best and easiest year. So, be sure to live in the moment and have as much fun as you can, while still studying for that exam on Monday!
