Dearest Best Friend,

It’s been some time since I’ve seen you in person. Almost a month and a half to be exact. That is a long time in the best friend world. I miss you a whole bunch and cannot wait to see you when I come home for summer.

First off, I have to thank you. Having a best friend so far away from you cannot be easy at all. It is not easy for me most times. I completely understand. I am in a whole new world and you are not here beside me to navigate it. Being away from home nine months out of the year for school is no easy task. And not having your best friend by your side is even tougher. You’ve been so supportive of everything I do here and it is really nice to have. I hope I have been as supportive and encouraging as you have been to me. I appreciate it more than you know.

I miss our adventures and laughs. I miss our trips to concerts, inside jokes and sitting in the car blasting our favorite songs. Those are the best times, and the fact that more will ensue for the summer makes me all kinds of happy. We have so much planned already. I cannot wait to see what spontaneous things we decide to do as well. I know I am so excited to go to the beach, have movie days and relax and do all the things we have not been able to do while I have been gone.

Since I’ve been gone I’ve been enjoying school, the spring weather and this new adventure I’m on. It has been really hectic and busy. It has also been rewarding and exciting. I know you share some of my excitement in all the new things I have been able to do. I’ve told you as much as I can over texting, FaceTime, pictures and everything else I send you, but it will be so nice to see you in person. Stories are much easier told than typed.

Your life has also taken some exciting turns and I am so happy to support you from far away. Please know when you text me something exciting, I am smiling from ear to ear because I’m so happy for you. You’ve gone on your own adventure and it makes me happy to see you enjoy it. We’re both growing up and going on our own journeys. It’s such an exciting time period in both of our lives and everything is new and exciting. Sharing it with my best friend is the best part.

So before I come home for summer and you start to see me all the time, know that I am probably just as excited to see you and hang out as you are. But first I have to finish my adventure at school, then it will be smooth sailing. See you real soon.
