Law and Order = even MORE subjugation and marginalization

LAW AND ORDER MY BLACK @$$!!!!!!

This is a short take on the presidential debate. I am once again (not complaining) bogged down with a ton of homework, so I will as we say in my circle, hit it and quit it. The debate. I was excited to watch the debate, as I knew it would be ON and POPPIN’. I was NOT disappointed---at first. There was some name-calling, some real zingers (mostly by Trump), and a lot of back splashing from both candidates, so much so that there is a puddle of water underneath my TV set.

If I had to pick a winner of this first debate, a most important one at that, I am not so sure who I would pick as the victor and this scares me. Trump came, and promptly showed out which was EXTREMELY entertaining, however not Presidential. If I had to pick the winner based on great one-liners, he would be the pick. Hillary (and I am a Hillary supporter) is still coming across as untrustworthy, but Presidential. If I picked a winner based on detailed answers (although I have heard them many times over), my pick would be her. Meanwhile, as suspected, the audience so far (CNN, NBC, and ABC) seem to be divided…uhm OK.

My favorite knock-down punch happened when Donald offered to submit his tax returns once Hillary delivers the missing 33,000 emails, the audience went WILD, and embarrassingly, I too was caught up for a moment. A clue, Hillary! Time is UP, GET IT TOGETHER on the email issue. Her response, in my opinion, was also lacking. Hillary should do a few things in preparation for the next debate. The most important thing she needs to do is COME CLEAN. The polls are pretty much telling her that her time will be up if she does not. If she is smart enough to “mitigate the damages”, stop the bleeding if you will, and come clean on the emails, the power that Donald holds over her will vanish! This race was hers to lose, now she really has to fight for it. I know one thing, if she does lose—I along with many others of color, will find it a hard way to go!

Hillary’s answer to the email debacle did not satisfy me, and I am sure it did not satisfy the viewers. Right now, the two are pretty much deadlocked in the polls. I am now watching the news recapping the debate, and they are bringing forth an issue that bothered me as well. Trump, although funny, didn’t really answer any questions. He stuck to bumper sticker attacks and answers. They were entertaining. The scary part is there will be those who are going to take the sound bites, and run to the polls in order to vote for him. The debate was great TV, however, I don’t know if this will change minds or sway anyone who is undecided. I honestly will be shocked if it does. Although I didn’t hear anything from either one that was new per say, I did hear something once more that, well, pissed me the @#$% OFF! Right out of that comb over idiot, two very dangerous words threatening to push us back YEARS, LAW and ORDER. Is this what he means by, making American great again?

Forget what all the news outlets are screaming about. They are falling into the snare. They are so worried that we African Americans have been put down by his venom, that something extremely important has been overlooked, and this would have been the perfect time for Hillary to pounce. She circled it and she tried, but she just didn’t make the landing needed in order to pounce. ALL minorities need to understand wholeheartedly the seriousness of this statement. Law and Order is what the colonizers, imperialists, and racists have been touting and abusing for centuries. Make no mistake, we as minorities are colonized. We are expected to assimilate to THEIR rules, and forget OUR culture in order to FIT into a society that REJECTS us based on our SKIN COLOR.

The temped and torrid zones mapped out on the Earth were used to describe the climate and the types of “unruly people of differing colors” that inhabit areas, with color defining them (Asians are yellow because of bile, blacks are cold blooded, and need the heat, and of course, whites were thought superior because they learned to live in cold climates, changing weather, and had to “fight” to civilize and advance). The consensus was that these minority “effeminate” men, and stupid women, needed to be ruled and governed as they did not possess the ability to become civilized or prosper in creation, invention, religion….and the arts.

Law and order translates into RACIST subjugation and marginalization for Africans, Asians, the Indigenous, and others. Law and Order is what ruled the Jim Crow era in the south, and Law and Order is what is KILLING our minority male youth, or locking them up for crazy amounts of time on the smallest infractions. To paraphrase W.E.B. DuBois, Law and Order is put into place to govern minority peoples below the color line, which, as Dubois so eloquently stated, IS the problem.

Minorities (Black folk) are NOT the problem, the color line is! This should act as a SCREAMING SIREN OF DOOM!!!! Get out and vote! Get yo Momma, yo Daddy, yo auntie and uncle…get yo nieces and nephews along with Daquan and Danisha, and them and GET OUT THERE AND VOTE! Don’t let this idiot into the White House!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
