La Verne In Black & White:

Selection Seven: Mia

Part Seven:

This set of photographs display a delightful person that I know who is quite interesting to be around. She has a large sense of fashion, especially within the world of make-up. She seems to be quite focused on the development of her future and what she wants to do after college. She she has plans to be more than she thinks she can be and wants to be able to support those who have supported her. As you will see throughout these photographs below, Mia is posing with a great deal of confidence and ground-breaking expressions for the viewer the gaze upon and cherish for the entire project.

Enjoy!

Photograph One: Gazing upon the viewer, Mia grasps the eyes and emotions of the viewer with a ferocious and seductive expression in the opening photograph for this project.

Photograph Two: With a similar glare towards the viewer, she seems to be quite dominate and seductive where it goes towards the viewer’s emotions and how they look at her.

Photograph Three: Being at the University of La Verne, she builds on her role as a leader and finds ways to be more active with her fellow classmates to help sustain that sense of community here.

Photograph Four: Gazing across the campus, she finds a serene and calming environment here at the University of La Verne whereas the overall objective here is to help students become someone who they thought they couldn’t.

Photograph Five: With the world of Softball in the past, Mia looks to begin a new path and find out what will make her the happiest and what will accelerate her overall being.

Photograph Six: With looking in the sky, she finds quite the level of serene influence around the campus of the University of La Verne.

Photograph Seven: With the 125th anniversary of the University of La Verne, Mia stands here as one of the many students of her class to be experiencing this occasion.

Photograph Eight: Feeling the aura of strong presence, the viewer can see the overall dominance that Mia has within her own world as the entire mood shifts with the project’s movement.

Photograph Nine: Seductive and dominant is her forte with the glare staring in the souls of the viewers.

Photograph Ten: Cherished and loved by her friends, Mia begins a new path as the new year approaching with the quickness and change for the world to see.

Words from Mia:

"I chose the stairs in front of Founders Hall because it is where I became friends with

the guy who is now my best friend in the entire world."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
