Advertisements for holiday launches are in full swing for the 108 season, and the beauty community is freaking out. From Mac's Pretty Shiny Things collection to the new James Charles x Morphe palette and beyond, customers can't decide where to purchase first!

Not to worry, beauties. It's only early November.

Let's dive into the products everyone will be using this winter!

Jeffree Star Alien + Holiday Collection

If you're a current lover of Jeffree Star Cosmetics, then you've already set your alarm to order these collections. With a new palette, Alien, eight Velour Liquid Lipsticks, new Lip Ammunition, and new Velour Liquid Lip Scrubs, there's almost too much for one order. The palette features neon colors that are sure to stand out at your holiday gathering, while the lipsticks offer both classic and colorful options for every style. A personal favorite of mine is the shade You're Still On The Property, a metallic blue that's perfect for use as an eyeliner.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Holiday Launch

Most people have had the chance to play around with the products, but although it came early this year, the 2018 Holiday ABH Launch had customers enthused about the diverse products being offered. From the new Sultry palette to the loose glitters, glitter adhesive, and metallic lipsticks and glosses, there's no excuse not to sparkle your way into 2019. I was able to test out the Sultry palette in October, and it's become my daily go-to!

James Charles x Morphe

UNLEASH YOUR INNER ARTIST - James Charles x Morphe

Get ready to sister slay with the new James Charles x Morphe palette! A whopping 39 vibrant and colorful shades lend themselves to creativity that should excite every makeup artist. This is the first collaboration with Morphe for James, who was named Covergirl's first male spokesperson in 2016. Since then, he has released YouTube videos on makeup, music, and now fashion! He even launched his own brand this year, Sisters Apparel. The palette retails for $39 and can be paired with a matching brush set for $149. Purchases can be made through Morphe in-store and online.

MAC Pretty Shiny Things

The name practically speaks for itself! The 2018 MAC Cosmetics Holiday collection is full of everything that glitters, and has been specifically targeted to gift-givers who want a complete look all in one package. Whether it's loose glitters, lipsticks, Lipglass, eye shadows and more, there's enough to choose form to make sure you can cover everything in glitter. Don't worry, you don't have to wait until New Year's.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Waitlisted for a College Class? Here's What to Do!

Dealing with the inevitable realities of college life.

college students waiting in a long line in the hallway

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
