Kim Kardashian was robbed Monday morning while she was in Paris for Fashion Week, according to the NY Times.

The 35-year old mother-of-two was alone in her room at the Hôtel de Pourtalèsvery when her home was raided around 3 AM.

According to the French police, Kim was tied, gagged, and robbed of about 9 million dollars in jewelry. The robbers also took cell phones and a wallet. According to reports, the criminals in question were wearing police attire but had gloves and balaclavas, which isn't part of the uniform.

Sources close to Kardashian say she was shaken up, but unharmed.

Meanwhile, husband Kanye West stopped his Queens show abruptly telling fans he had a “family emergency.”

Kim arrived safely back in New York later that morning. She was seen in NYC reunited with Kanye with legions of security behind her.

After the attack, it seemed like everyone had something to say about it. Some people shared sympathies. Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris was one of those people.

“I condemn the attack Kim Kardashian suffered last night in her hotel,” Hidalgo told the NY Times. “She has my support and will always be welcome here in Paris. I have full confidence that the police force, as part of their investigation, will quickly identify and apprehend the perpetrators of these acts.”

The editor-in-chief of Vogue Arabia, Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz was at a dinner with Kim about two hours before the crime occurred. While some people blame Kim for showing off her expensive jewelry on instagram, but editor-and-chief does not see that as an excuse for what's happened.

“There’s no question in my mind that this will play heavily on the mind of shoppers and travelers from the Gulf when it comes to visiting in Paris. Lots wear their jewelry very openly here. They shop. And have always felt very safe doing so. But when something like this can happen, and to someone with such a good security detail, well — it’s a big surprise. And it’s very frightening", Abdulaziz told the NY Times.

But even with all the press covering the story, many still have doubts that something like this could happen. Even people some officers who learned about the story were skeptical.

“ The amount of terrorism problems, threats, and investigations ongoing in France right now likely has every man and woman with a badge working double-time, so if you wanted to run a hoax or publicity stunt, and I am not saying that is what they did, but France would be the place to do it,” says Michael Levine, a former undercover DEA agent in a statement to Fox News.

But, no matter how you feel about the situation, I think this tweet from James sums the situation up for me:

The robbers have not yet been apprehended, and the French police are actively working on the case. People magazine says Kim is re-thinking what and how she portrays herself on social media and admits she was "living in a bubble" thinking something like this couldn't happen to her.

What I Think

I'll be honest- when I first heard this story, I also questioned if it was true. How could someone be robbed with security minutes away from the scene? However, whether it's true or not, being held at gunpoint is no laughing matter. I also feel sorry for the city of Paris, who has experienced quite a few high-profile terroristic acts in the past couple of months. I hope the police catch whoever is responsible for this before it happens to someone else.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
