He did it! It happened! The god of our dreams finally won the Oscar he deserved. On February 28^th, Leonardo DiCaprio took his rightful place on stage at the Dolby Theatre and held the gold statue that he no doubt dreamed about for the duration of his 30-year film career for his winning movie, “The Revenant.” His loyal fans watched on in a trance on TV screens across the world as Leo went on to thank the many people involved with “The Revenant”, and smiled in glee as he highlighted issues on climate change. But what made everyone cry in fangirl happiness was not the fact that it took six nominations for the Academy to finally recognize DiCaprio’s diverse talents, but that the Rose to his Jack, aka Kate Winslet, was right there to support her ridiculously handsome friend in what must have been the best moment of his life. Here, we celebrate Kate and Leo’s friendship, a relationship spanning almost twenty years that deserves an award all on its own.

Audiences know that Rose let go when she adamantly said she wouldn't. But "Titanic" marked the beginning of a friendship fan girls (and fan boys) and shippers alike would never let go of.

I mean, I was barely a year old when they attended the 1998 Golden Globes. But I think we can all agree we wish we walked into our proms looking this fabulous.

In 2004, Leonardo went on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and was asked about his best on-screen kiss. "I'm just gonna go with, you know, Kate Winslet. Good ol' classic." Oprah went on to show a clip of an interview Winslet did after "Titanic" was released. "We always got on incredibly well," she said of her co-star. "He's so good at what he does and we really stuck together." With that the audience clapped and Leo smiled, saying, "That's my girl." Excuse me while I cry.

Back in 2012, Kate had a super secret wedding to Ned Rocknroll. While there are no pictures of the private ceremony, it was only fitting that Kate's best friend, Leo, gave her away. Sigh.

In 2008, the dynamic duo teamed up for another film directed by Sam Mendes called "Revolutionary Road." The film went on to earn both Kate and Leo a Golden Globe as well as being nominated for several other prestigious awards including four BAFTAs and three Oscars. In the process, it gifted us several red carpet appearances where the BFFs did nothing but gush about each other.
