It has been just one week since Kaitlyn Bristowe's dramatic and surprising final rose ceremony. If you haven't heard or seen the season finale (SPOILER ALERT), Shawn Booth won over Kaitlyn's heart. We don't blame her for this; Shawn is one irresistible man. BUT, what happened with all of the feelings she had towards Nick Viall?
Not even 48 hours after the finale, Glamour writer Megan Angelo revealed her "cover-up theory" she has been biting her tongue on all season. Long story short: Kaitlyn told Shawn he was "the one" in the beginning and turned all the other guys off, so producers called Nick to join the group to cover it all up. Basically, Nick was hired to save the 11th season from falling apart. INSANE. I KNOW. Yes, there are always millions of controversies and just like those, this one comes with a few questions from us.
Is this why the hometown dates were scrapped?
Could have been. What was the point of traveling to four hometowns when she already chose Shawn weeks before? None. No one wants to make their families fake it for the camera. So, producers just had Nick and Shawn's families meet Kaitlyn and be done with it. Makes sense to me...
Didn't Nick ASK to be on the show?
According to what we saw, Nick asked producers to come on the show mid-season. Before Kaitlyn was chosen as the bachelorette, the two had exchanged a few private messages, and Nick began to grow feelings toward Kaitlyn. So, this would mean the producers did not come up with the idea of bringing him on to cover up Kaitlyn and Shawn's romance. Hmmmm...
Why did Kaitlyn admit to having sex with Nick?
I don't know how you handle your relationships, but if Nick was, in fact, ONLY on the show to cover up her love for Shawn, would she really have hooked up with Nick? Not only did we hear it (ew), but Kaitlyn told her whole family about the sex and her guilt about the whole night. So obviously it was true, and who would purposly do that to poor Shawn?
Why did Cupcake cry so hard when she didn't give him a rose?
If you missed this, you are lucky. It was painful and agonizing to watch Kaitlyn tell Cupcake (Chris) he was not the one. If this whole conspiracy is true, Cupcake must be an actor instead of a dentist because those looked like real tears to me and the other 6 million viewers. We are still sorry, Cupcake. Your entrance will forever go down in "Bachelorette" history.
Kaitlyn has said, "It was always Shawn," so it does make us believe most of the season was just a cover-up. No one will never completely know if this theory is true, but if it is, producers did an amazing job at keeping the ratings up, making it the best Monday night summer for ABC in two years. And we are still obsessed with the couple even a week after the final rose.
If it happened or not, we are happy for Kaitlyn and Shawn and pray their Snapchat stories are neverending, just like their love (sappiness over).
