Justin Bieber was first introduced to America in 2009, maybe 2010. Young girls started to fall in love with the teen heartthrob and everyone began to hear his music every day. No matter where you were, you heard his prepubescent voice singing over the radio and girls were screaming and crying.
Back then, you would never see me listening to a Justin Bieber song. Even now, I don't like Justin Bieber. Never have, probably never will. I think he is a selfish and arrogant overgrown child. I disliked his music because I thought it didn't represent who he was as a person, but I guess he grew into the character, especially with what he does in public. It's quite sad.
That being said, his new album is pretty good. I will give him that.
"Purpose," the new album released November 2015, is very different from his previous albums. One day I was sitting in my dorm room looking through Spotify and I came upon his album. I looked right through it but I saw the song titled "Love Yourself." I figured I may as well give it a try -- it's good to be up-to-date on current music.
Well, I started listening and could not help but really like the message within the song. What I got out of it was that love is a two-way street. You cannot be in a relationship without some give and take, and most certainly you cannot expect your partner to focus so much on you without giving anything back.
I decided to move onto other songs, and the next song for me was "Life Is Worth Living." This actually hit home for me because I have faced a lot of problems in life, but I always managed to get back up on my feet and keep moving on. Even when you're down on life, it's still worth it to focus every single moment in the now and to look forward to the future. Don't ever give up.
Other great songs on his album include "Mark My Words," "Sorry," "Children," "No Sense," and "Purpose." The other songs on here are still great and have a great message. This new album is a cross between breakup songs, anthems, and good beats. I have to say, this is the first time I will give the Biebs a thumbs-up on his music. If you haven't listened to the new album, do it. If you don't like him, start out slow so you adjust to this new sound and beat.
Enjoy the new album! I hope Justin stays on this path of great music and can move forward. Now, let's hope he doesn't mess anything else up in the news.
