Recently, on March 22, 2016, Justin Bieber fans got the news that Bieber made the decision to cancel his meet and greet packages for the rest of his 'Purpose' World Tour.
The news broke out from Bieber, himself, in an Instagram post of his. In the photo, Bieber poses with a young fan.
The Instagram post reads as follows:
"justinbieber: Love u guys.. I'm going to be canceling my meet and greets. I enjoy meeting such incredible people but I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people's spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy.. Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression .. The pressure of meeting people's expectations of what I'm supposed to be is so much for me to handle and a lot on my shoulders. Never want to disappoint but I feel I would rather give you guys the show and my albums as promised. Can't tell you how sorry I am, and wish it wasn't so hard on me.. And I want to stay in the healthy mindset I'm in to give you the best show you have ever seen ;)"
The post clearly shows that Bieber is struggling emotionally to balance all aspects of his tour. With feeling so overwhelmed and drained at the very beginning of his tour, he made the right decision to cancel the meet and greets. Surely, people pay to meet him, but the major gift is seeing Bieber himself perform on the stage. He is known for the unique, entertaining, and inclusive type of tour he gives.
Understandably, many Bieber fans dedicated themselves in saving up money to meet their idol for about $2,000. That is a big moment in your life to look forward to in meeting the "Biebs" himself and getting a real-life photo with him.
However, someone's emotional, mental, and physical well-being comes first. It is important that Bieber made this decision earlier on in the tour, so he can give fans an unforgettable concert experience and not have to later cancel shows for health reasons.
As radio host Erica America, of New York's Radio Station, Z100, states, "Being a huge superstar is incredibly rewarding and there are awesome benefits, but it undoubtedly can be a double-edge sword and can suck the life out of you leaving you feeling empty. This can send you down many dark roads." It is important to understand your health and know what is best for you.
Bieber's Purpose album had a purpose and that was that "on the album, Justin sings a lot about faith, love and heartbreak, but most notably, he is owning up to his mistakes, reminding us, time and time again, that he is not perfect." This tour for his new album, made in about a couple of years time, has a purpose to show fans an honesty within his music. He uses this album to prove in the lyrics that even though mistakes have been made, he is human like any other person on earth, just with a lot of extra attention.
With this decision, he will remain healthier and be able to give fans the tour experience he hoped for in the making of his album.
