Before I begin, I want to tell you that I would really like for each of you to pray for this family after you read this article. Pray so that they may feel the comforting hand of God wrapped around them.
On one average, June night in Indiana a mother hired a 14-year-old babysitter to watch both of her daughters. At the time Missy Camp, the mother, would have never imagined she was leaving her children in the care of an irresponsible boy. This kid was a family friend and he had kept the kids before, so she never thought anything about it, but this night was different. No one really questions the people they leave their kids with; they want to trust that they are leaving their kids in good hands.
While the mom was visiting her family, the young boy decided to invite three other guys over. Keep in mind these boys are young and stupid just like the other one and these guys were obviously not the type of people you would hire to keep your kids. They were just there to have a good time since no parents were around and just "keep the kids alive." The damage just these four boys created in that short amount of time is just crazy. The house was trashed, soda cans and food on the ground; the TV, a window, and two toilets were broken; beer and drugs (Xanax) were also covering the floor. I mean, why not trash the place? It's not their house and the mom wouldn't be home until the next day. Also, they thought it would be really hilarious to fill the washer machine all the way up and put Missy's 3-year-old daughter in it. Raelyn was put into the washer machine and then put in the dryer like a pair of pants basically. The older sister told Missy that the boys put Raelyn in the dryer multiple times... She was covered from head to toe in bruises. Can you ever imagine coming home to your son or daughter covered in bruises from a washer machine? Well, a better question would be, could you ever imagine coming home to your child/children and they are hurt, crying or upset in any way?
Missy took her child to the doctor and he told her that there were possible signs of sexual abuse. This just completely broke her heart and what's even worse is that these young men are not facing the punishment they should be. This family wants and needs justice, but in all actuality, they really need to lean on God in this hard time. I will be praying for this family and I hope this article will make you want to pray too.
Pray for the Camp's family, Raelyn, those boys and the world. Pray for America, that the people living here will remember our country's motto, "In God We Trust." I pray that we will lean on Him and trust His plans.
