After looking at all the beauty in the world, it can be hard to look in the mirror and remember to take care of yourself or to treat yourself. In the past, I have gone through multiple products and routines that simply failed me or left my hair or whatever I was treating in an unsettled state. After accepting a simple routine and looking into conserving my budget, I have come to find some of my favorite items that really help me start the day or be my favorite version of myself. Below, is a list of 10 must-have items that I use either everyday or quite often, and therefore very much approve of.

1. Biosilk Silk Therapy 17, Miracle Leave-In Conditioner

This product is so many things packed into one bottle and is available in many places including stores like Marshalls! It is a wonderful way to help untangle difficult hair after a shower or to help tame those dry locks.

2. Bath and Body Works, Energy/Orange Ginger Body Lotion

It quickly gets locked into your skin and provides comfort and a boost of both calm and focused energy for the day. It also features a really fresh and relaxing scent to help with a long day at school or work.

3. "Wet" Brushes

The Wet Brush-Pro is incredible! It gets through my really annoying hair even on the worst days and doesn’t destroy it while going through my knots and waves. They come in tons of colors and patterns, and I have come to love my blue one!

4. Vaseline

Yeah...that petroleum jelly that sits in your cupboard, or that you didn’t think had any use, is waiting for you to pick it back up. From chapped lips almost bleeding, to protecting skin near the hairline from dark hair-dye, this is the ultimate multi-tasking product.

5. ELF Tone Correcting Powder

With four equal sized blocks of different colors, this product can help correct anything from dark spots to redness. I love this for my red and blotchy cheeks and the occasional dark spots. Paired with another product, or just alone, this helps create a solid look very quick for your busiest days.

6. Seche Clear Base Clear Coat Nail Polish

This product dries so quickly and is worth the extra bucks when compared to others for use before applying a color coat.

7. Ulta’s Illuminating Powder in Pink Diamond

Almost like a highlighter, this can be used for anything from an eye-shadow to an eyeliner besides it's primary purpose. Also, it is incredible for applying a small amount at the corner of your eyes for a widening/brightening appeal.

8. OGX Argan Oil Dry Oil

This smaller bottle of spray is perfect for wet or dry hair, to prep the frizzy hair that many people, like myself, have. It also works well for unruly or damaged waves/curls that don’t want to behave, or when it’s too humid for a good hair day.

9. Burt’s Bees Chapstick

My favorite flavor at the moment is the mint cocoa, and it's lasted me some time now! Very sensitive and helpful for any lips, this product has helped me tremendously. They also have many specific types for various needs and in tinted varieties for both healing and color.

10. Bai All-Natural Drinks

With no artificial sweeteners and protection against increasing blood sugar by not adding certain sugars, this product not only AMAZINGLY delicious and refreshing, but also healthy. My favorite version includes blueberry and tastes like a slushy!

I hope you liked this list! It isn’t a complete list of my favorite items because that would be a long list; however, it is a select few that I have come to love. Everyone has their own list of products they love, and now you have a few more to add!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
