Each high school in Rochester, MN has its own personality. John Marshall, Mayo, and Century are all vastly different. Below are 13 "just Century things."
1. Band is considered cool
There are people who go to football games just to see the band perform.
2. Cowbell is always a hit
"FASTER!!!!"
3. Boy's cross country and swimming are typically two of our only successful sports teams
4. Beating Mayo or JM is always a big deal
Especially in section play.
5. If you're on the honors track it's likely most of your friends are too
It's normal to graduate with an honors diploma.
6. Taking a regular class while on the honors track is a freeing experience
Why didn't we just do that all along?
7. You know/knew people in your class by name
Our classes are actually pretty small (especially compared to JM and Mayo).
8. Ms. Kaus is one of the most loved teachers
She single-handedly built the CHS Band Program to its 200+ member strong status of today.
9. Bear Creek Week(s) are two of the best weeks of the year
Raising money for a good cause and running around chasing random people for Paranoia, what more could you ask for?
10. AP Physics is a death wish (unless you're crazy smart)
I tried, I failed, along with most of my class.
11. Most people work at 37th street HyVee
Or the RAC.
12. The English department teachers are some of the sassiest, funniest, and talented teachers a student could ask for
They're also a little scary.
13. We wouldn't want to cheer for any other football team besides CHS (even if they won more games)
Because it's fun to cheer for your friends and the underdogs...especially when we win!
