JSU's 2019 Football Hype Video Is Turning Heads

If you attend Jacksonville State University there is a chance you have already seen some of the uproars over the football team's 2019 hype video. The overwhelming majority of people dislike the video, although there are students who really like it. Personally, the video seems a lot more artistic than what you would normally see from a southern football team. Saturday Down South called it the "weirdest hype video ever", and maybe so but people are talking about it regardless and that may be just what the athletic department is looking for.

Some comments look at how the video doesn't flow together well or the execution of it could be different, this can be considered constructive criticism. However, other media platform have taken to making comments about a player's body types and sizes that just seems to be unproductive to the conversation regarding this college football hype video. Local newspaper comments "viewers get the slow-motion shirt-ripping, revealing a player's, uh ... less-than-chiseled physique", as if every player in football is clean and extremely cut.

Comment sections are full of people making fun of this kid, but he put himself out there and he is owning it. It seems as though people were just looking for something to dislike and many picked this young man to jab at. I think people don't like it because it is different, and it stands out, it's unusual and it's not what they are used to.

I like the video and here is why. It shows these young men in a way I have never seen them before, as a member of The Marching Southerners I see how they perform on the field as well as off the field. It gave them an opportunity to be different from every other college and I respect that so much. I am personally proud of the department for going in this direction even if the execution of it isn't perfect, it's a freaking cool video and we shouldn't be giving them so much crap for it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
