Eating is one of those things that just makes me happy. I love sitting down to a good meal that someone has worked hard to prepare. Although usually, I'm the family's chef, I can still appreciate my own efforts. I also love a good snack. Something that hits the right spot no matter what else is going on.

You may (or may not) know about my other snack related article 12 Salty Snacks College Girls Need For When It Feels Like The Dining Hall Is 20 Miles Away. After that was published, I got an amazing message from a woman on Facebook. She told me she saw my article and said she works on behalf of several major food brands, including Jack Link's. I was then asked if I would like to sample some free products and write another article about them. This is the awesome package I got sent to me in the mail.

There was the Traditional Jerky, Teriyaki Jerky, and 2 Original Beef Sticks. Being a nice person, I shared with my family. Here's what we learned about Jack Link's.

You Can Share It With Your Friends

Sharing a snack with a friend (or family member) is a great way to connect. Food brings people together and even a snack can put a smile on someone's face.

It Is A Healthier Option Than Sugary Sweets

Not eating a ton of sugar and replacing, say a piece of cake, with some Jerky is a great way to avoid the sweets and get some protein in your system. I loved the Teriyaki Jerky for exactly this reason. It was sweeter than the Traditional Jerky, but still not a sugar-filled snack.

The Beef Sticks Are To Die For

My daughter isn't a huge jerky fan. She'll eat it, but it doesn't satisfy her snack cravings in the way it does some people, namely me. She did gravitate to the Beef Sticks though. I tried one, then let her have the rest of it. The very next day she begged for the other one. They were so good! I totally get why choosing one would be a great idea.

You Can Eat It Almost Anywhere

Jerky is a super portable snack. You can pop a bag in your backpack or purse and eat it whenever the mood strikes, or you realize you have forgotten your lunch money. I won't even tell if you start snacking in class, but you better share!

The bottom line is we loved these products and you should too. The next time something isn't going your way, grab some Jack Link's and I'm sure a smile will appear on your face sooner than you think.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
