It's OK To Be Yourself

You can be crazy and calm, all at once.

So, here's the deal: ITS OKAY TO BE SAFE AND TO BE WILD.

You can dress up. You can put on some lipstick and thick, winged eyeliner. You can put on fake eyelashes and you can curl your hair.

You can spend hours on your makeup and you can spend double that time on your hair. You can wear that gorgeous dress, even if the invitation said casual.

You can go to that party and dance your butt off. You can drink, laugh with your friends, let loose a little or let loose a lot.

By all means, get up and dance on a table or two if you feel like it's necessary. Sing some karaoke, swim in your underwear, and eat that whole damn pizza.

Then, in the morning (or afternoon) when you get up, you can smile to yourself because you stayed out too late, drank a little too much, and laughed more than you have in forever.

You can open that text from your best friend asking if you guys can do it all over again tonight, too. And, if you want to, you should most definitely do it all again.

Come Sunday morning, you can get yourself up and go to church, to breakfast with your family, or both. You can clean your house, take a nap, and binge watch Gilmore Girls on Netflix. Then, you can curl up on the couch and read a really amazing book.

You can make dinner for yourself that night, watch some TV, finish some homework, and drink a giant cup of coffe. You can text your parents and tell them you love them and then you can go to bed early for the first time this weekend.

Then you'll go to school, work, or, if you're like me, you'll do both. You'll work hard and you'll go home, make dinner, watch some tv, and go to bed.

And GUESS WHAT? This coming weekend, when you go out and go wild again, THE WORLD ISN'T GOING TO END. You're still going to kick butt at school, you're still going to rock that job, and you're going to have a hell of a lot of fun to get rid of the stress from the week.

You don't have to choose between being safe and being wild. You can be both. You can do whatever you want and no one can say a single thing about it. You get to live your life, YOUR ONLY LIFE, however you want. You can be safe, be responsible, and be a boss all week. Then you can be a wild, crazy, spitfire all weekend.

This is your life. It's time for you to start living it the way you WANT to without worrying about being judged.

You'll get judged for everything you do your whole life, so you might as well have fun while you're at it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
