Three years of college have flown by. It feels like I was moving into my dorm just yesterday. It's no secret that the unknown is absolutely terrifying. Freshman year, I was afraid I wouldn't make any friends. Now, I'm afraid that I'll lose them. These fears have the potential to become a reality. That doesn't mean we have to let them take over our lives. Sometimes you have to take your fears and laugh a little.
Losing Friends
BEST FRIENDS FOREVER…or maybe not. They say college is where you’ll find your bridesmaids, but don’t stress if that’s not the case. They might not stick around, but you’re bound to learn something from them. And if they do stick around, you’re biggest struggle will be choosing a maid of honor.
Debt
Student loans have come back to bite you in the butt. It’s just one of those things that we unfortunately have to deal with. We can’t be too mad about it; for many of us, student loans are the only reason we graduated. That doesn’t mean we aren't going to cry about it.
Getting a Job
The biggest concern I hear from post-graduates is finding a job. Many of us were told that getting an education would make it easier to get a job. You are not a failure simply because you haven't entered the career of your dreams. Keep trying though. You have bills to pay!
Adjusting to a New Routine
Some people move home after college. Some move to a completely new place while others stick around after graduation. Whatever the case, you probably won’t be going to school every day anymore. Cheers to that!
Having to “Grow Up”
It feels like we were doe-eyed freshman entering the “real world.” Now we’re seniors being thrown into the real real world. Once you graduate, you’re an adult; that’s how it feels at least. No more shopping-money from Mom and Dad. No more do-overs when you screw up. Just remember that it’s a learning process; you don’t have to grow up all at once.
