You have new competition in town!

And this is a competitor to take seriously.

KRISPY KRUNCHY CHICKEN has Arrived!

My fellow Daytona Beach & Port Orange residents, it is will joy I write this announcement! The Pavilion at Port Orange has JUST opened a stand alone KRISPY KRUNCHY CHICKEN Cajun Recipe restaurant.

Alas! We may now partake in the delicious, flavorful, and AFFORDABLEfried chicken and sides we all know and love here at home! Our days of making up road trips for the sake of stopping at gas stations with KRISPY KRUNCHY CHICKEN on site have now been given an alternative. Take a moment and rejoice!

Fried Chicken-lovers will absolutely cherish every aspect of this brand new restaurant. Located in the popular local shopping center, this store will have no problem attracting customers. With prices you can hardly beat, and an atmosphere that is hard to challenge, every person with a budget will enjoy the food and experience without "breaking the bank."

Although there is not a drive-thru, there is a nice seating area for you to enjoy your Cajun seasoned fried chicken. Not in the mood to go out? No worries! They have delivery!

I visited their store on their sample day. And sample I did!

The sweet, salty, fluffy honey biscuit. The juicy, krispy tender. The flavorful, tasty, filling chicken breast. I also tried their fried fish, and it was pretty good as well.

Their side dishes are awesome!

The jambalaya hit the spot! Fun fact I learned, they actually cut up the chicken that did not sell each night and use it in their jambalaya so that they limit their waste. Points for caring and putting in the effort to eliminate waste!

The mashed potatoes and gravy will send you into a day dream of Thanksgiving. Delicious. The rice and beans dish is simple, and does the dish justice. And the boudin bites? Not bad at all!

Great tasting food for great prices at a convenient location...the only piece of the puzzle missing is you.

Now, you do not have to take my word for it. Go and see for your self. Grab a bite before or after you see a movie. Take a lunch break during your back-to-school shopping spree.

You will not regret your visit! Just make sure you have an appetite before you go!

(It probably would not hurt to have a TUMS or some Pepto Bismol either, especially if Cajun seasoning gets you and you are going to see a movie after you eat. Don't do that to yourself, nor to the other movie attendees.)

Head on over and experience this new KRISPY KRUNCHY CHICKEN today!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
