It’s totally all about the little things in life because in a different aspect they are the big things. It’s so easy to forget how important it is to experience things that make us happy because of everything else we have going on, but if we all stop and take a look around, we can see that happiness is around us even in the smallest things.
- Laying in bed after a long day.
- Cold, fresh sheets on your bed.
- Arriving at a family members house and realizing you have the whole day ahead of you with the people who mean the most to you.
- Singing in the car with the windows down, with your best friends.
- Getting a good grade on an exam that you thought you failed.
- Getting a good grade on an exam that you knew you studied hard for.
- The peacefulness after a snowstorm when literally no one can leave the house and you have to be stuck inside, (before the panic of shoveling and realizing you can’t leave for a few days, sets in it’s actually nice.)
- The fulfillment of finishing a good book.
- Receiving an unexpected compliment (whether it is about appearance, or work ethic, or whatever else.)
- A hug when you’re crying and feel you need it most.
- A hug when you have happy news.
- Telling the most important people in your life good news and watching them smile and be happy for you.
- The feeling after a good cry.
- The smell of your grandmas cooking.
- Happy birthday cards.
- Christmas music.
- Actually Christmas time in general.
- Walking out of the last day of school for the summer.
- Hearing someone say I care about you/appreciate you.
- Laughing so hard your stomach actually hurts and you may or may not have an asthma attack.
It’s things like this that remind us who we are and why we have to keep going. It is always bright after a storm and it will always be okay again especially because there are little things like this that help us realize, life is pretty great.
