It is okay to punch a Nazi, in fact, it should be encouraged. This shouldn't require an explanation. They even still use the same name. They are not hiding their beliefs. Richard Spencer denounces Nazism whilst using their propaganda and terminology in some of his work. He also believes in "peaceful ethnic cleansing," which is absurd because no such thing is possible. Richard Spencer doesn't deserve to be punched once, he deserves to be punched once by every living member of a race that has been subject to the treatment of discrimination and "ethnic cleansing."
Shia LeBeouf should not have been arrested under any circumstance. He was, in fact, being verbally harassed by a Nazi who was spewing antisemitic remarks during a peaceful protest. You do not have to claim Nazism to be a Nazi. You just have to practice and share their beliefs, which he clearly does. Shia did not punch that man but he had my blessing and every other good hearted American's blessing to do so.
I continue to hear these remarks from hypocritical republicans denouncing the peaceful protests and women's marches, claiming that no such protests occurred after President Obama's election. But you cannot deny the literal fact that there were violent protests that included the burning of effigies and the displaying of blatantly racist signs. Compared to the last bout of protests, the modern version is much more tame and much more constitutional.
Before you tell me and anyone else to give him a chance, remember what happened after Obama was elected. Remember that Trump incited some of those violent protests. Remember that Trump has signed a bill banning the immigration of Muslims to America. Remember that we will not stop protesting until we see something worthy of a chance to give. Remember that Nazis will get punched, until their tyrannical and unethical beliefs are diminished.
