It has been years of memories with you, memories that have shaped every tomorrow and made my today. My next tomorrow is when I leave. The countless days we have spent together are behind us, but not far. As our lives’ carry us away from one another, I want you to know I am not leaving you; you are not leaving me.

I am about to move away, to start fresh and to begin a new journey. I am embarking on a freshly-made path, but I will not walk alone. You will be in my heart every step of the way. I will think of our moments together often. I will begin my new trek with you in mind, always.

Thank you for showing unconditional love, not only to me, but to my entire family. Thank you for developing my love for community and togetherness. You have shown me family is made up of so many. You are my so many, you are my family. As I reflect on my time with you, I trust the longevity of its everlasting mark. The laughs with each other, the moments you fixed broken spirits, the time I didn’t have to spend alone.

I leave with a heavy heart and a broken smile. Even though I am hopeful for what is ahead, I am sad I am leaving the wonderful life of now. This wonderland I am soon to leave is uniquely close to my heart all because of you. The home I am leaving is my forever home. A place where I will always keep my special moments throughout childhood, where I will remember my biggest steps and where I keep you close.

This home of mine that I am about to leave is a home only because of people like you who have made my time, and my family’s time, here one to never forget. Leaving my special home is difficult but I am excited to see what the world has in store for me.

Please stay close; please call often; and please remember each and every one of our special memories we have shared together. I do not want the distance to separate us, I do not want you to say goodbye. I will not say goodbye because I will see you again. The road block ahead is not meant for an irreversible journey, in fact there will be many more times that we meet.

I realized there are no true goodbyes in life. There are no moments of time that truly end; they all live on within us. The people, the memories and the time we fill our lives with is something that never ends, something that never goes away. Thank you for being something in my life that will never go away. Thank you for not allowing me to say goodbye, only for letting me say farewell for now.

Home will always be any place with you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this home of mine a place where I will forever feel complete. This is not goodbye, just see you soon.
