Often I think I have a bad day. My day is bad because I keep having all these problems, it seems like it’s just one thing after another. Then one day I started thinking about all my “problems.” I came to the conclusion they weren’t really problems at all. I spilled Starbucks down my shirt? I should feel blessed I can afford a four dollar cup of coffee. My roommates left dishes in the sink? I have a house with dishes, a sink and roommates to live with. The things we often complain about doing, are problems other people dream of having.
1)“Ugh, I have to get gas.”
It’s illegal for Women in Saudi Arabia to drive a car.
2)“I don’t want to get up to turn my light off.”
A quarter of the human population lives without electricity. (That’s an estimated 1.6 billon people)
3)“Why are we having takeout Chinese, again?”
One out of nine people in the world do not have enough to eat. Every ten seconds a child dies from hunger-related diseases.
4)“I wanted coke but they gave me water.”
1.7 billon people lack access to clean water. Almost two in three people who need safe drinking water make $2 or less each day.
5)“I really don’t want to go to class today.”
There are currently 67 million kids who are still denied the right to education.
6)“My wifi’s so slow, I hate that my router is all the way across the house.”
Close to 863 million people in the developing world live in a slum, or no house at all.
