That’s good to hear. So, why did you choose WPI?
It’s hard to do much better for an engineering school.
What do you want to major in?
Biomedical engineering.
Biomedical engineering is a sort of engineering which focuses on, to generalize it tremendously, create new technologies to enhance healthcare. If you’re interested in learning more, go here.
Do you know much about that major going in?
I didn’t know much initially, but I’ve already learned a ton.
Are you considering a double major or anything like that?
I’m considering a master’s degree, but I’m not sure if it’s necessary in my field.
Why do you like biomedical engineering?
It is very interdisciplinary, and I like all of science, so it’s especially appealing to me.
Do you think biomedical engineering is underappreciated in the world?
I feel like a lot of people don’t really know what it’s about, but I do think that it is respected.
Do you know what career you want in the future?
A laboratory setting would be ideal.
How do you like WPI so far?
It’s very good.
Do you feel like you fit in here?
Yeah, I’d say so.
What do you like about it most?
The food is really good; their cake is like none other. The professors are nice.
What are your thoughts on the campus?
Really pretty, and I think it’ll look even better when the leaves change color.
Do you feel adjusted to the college life?
I’m adjusted to living here, but I’m still adjusting to the classes and work.
Has it been a big change to move to Worcester from where you’re from?
Yes. I’m from North Reading and living in a city is different from what I’m used to.
After a while, I started asking Ben some much less important questions, but they were still interesting and informative.
What’s your favorite band?
Post-modern jukebox.
What’s your favorite meal?
Macaroni and cheese.
What’s your favorite season?
Winter.
Favorite color?
Green.
Not WPI’s colors?
No, though they are good colors.
WPI’s colors are crimson and gray (see page 5 if you don’t believe me).
What’s your favorite hobby?
Drawing.
What do you like to draw?
Anything, really. Usually people.
