When it comes to doing things with a purpose and really taking the time to focus on what you're doing and who you are spending time with, we honestly fail so much. We can try to blame culture for this, but the truth is it's our own fault. It is a part of our nature to focus on ourselves and while that's okay sometimes we can't have ourselves be our only focus.
I've been in more situations than I care to admit where I honestly don't think I even tried to make others feel wanted or appreciated and looking back at that I wish I would have realized the importance of being intentional.
Intentionality is such an important part of life. It helps make others feel wanted, included, and loved. It's something that every person needs to start incorporating into their lives so that we can make sure our time is never wasted.
Being intentional will open doors and our eyes to what we really need to be doing. It will allow us to do things that are more worthwhile.
As Christians, we are called for a specific purpose and because of that, we need to be intentional with all that we do. Romans 8:28 says "and we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
It's amazing that we were not only called for a purpose, but we were made for a purpose and when we live that good things happen. When we love people well, when we notice when people are hurting, when we are kind when we don't have to be, when we are intentional great things can happen because of Christ.
Christians, we need to learn to allow God to take over our time. To make sure we spend our minutes on this earth loving people more and doing more of what matters. We need to build disciples and care for people who need to be cared for. And the honest truth is if we are not being intentional with our lives then how are we fulfilling God's purpose for our lives?
How can we do what God has called us to do if our time is not focused? If our eyes and hearts aren't focused on the cross then how can we expect to make a difference?
