Instructions For Finals

So I've been watching a lot of slam poetry lately, and I found one that I feel that everyone should hear at least once in their life. It's called Instructions for a Bad Day by Shane Koyczan. College students especially need to hear this, because we all inevitably have a bad day during the week before finals when we're overwhelmed with all the papers and projects that we have due.

This video reminds us all that we need to take a break and refocus ourselves from time to time. We need to step back and breathe to keep ourselves in the present, even though it's so easy to become preoccupied with the future.

So sit back. Take a few minutes to breathe, and watch this video to remember that there will be better days.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
