7 Effects To Mix Up Your Instagram Aesthetic

There have been a lot of rainy days this summer which means I have spent a lot of days trapped inside and bored. Why not turn that boredom into a 🔥 Instagram pic? These are a few simple shoots anyone can do at home.

1. Make a CD Rainbow

These pictures are all the rage right now. Although you can easily edit in a rainbow using FaceTune, using a CD to make one is more fun and gives you more control over the effect.

2. Use Shadows

Use things like blinds, lace or anything patterned to make a cool shadow effect on either your face or your clothes.

3. Play With Glitter

Everyone loves glitter, plus everyone has some sort of glitter laying around their house. Use it to highlight certain things or honestly to coat your entire body.

4. PicsArt

Who said editing isn't an art? Use PicsArt to add filters, stickers and a ton of other fun effects. Give your basic photos a little more pop.

5. Computer Screen Glows

Turn off the lights, search a color on Google and turn your brightness all the way up. Use the light from your computer to make you glow in the color of your choice.

6. Glass Shower Door

Use a glass shower door to create a drip on glass effect in front of the subjects face. Even better, use colored water to make an awesome effect.

7. Mirrors

Mirror selfies are always cute. You can take this to the next level by positioning mirrors in photos to show things that would not normally be seen, adding another layer.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
