Instagram. You either have one, or you know a lot about it ... there's really no in between when it comes to this social media site. Instagram is great for a number of things: posting pictures, cyberstalking people, seeing what everyone is up to, getting likes ... let's face it, Instagram is pretty awesome. It is one of the few social media sites to stick around year after year, and is still popular to this day. In fact, I'm on it right now.
Instagram can be a great thing, but it also has it's downsides. Don't just believe me though, but instead let the characters from the movie Mean Girls explain :
1. When you're stalking someone's Instagram and accidentally like a picture from 156 weeks ago.
Is there such a thing as stalking in a "non-creepy" way? Probably not. No matter how bad you want to view someone's Instagram, always make sure not to double tap! Keep that thumb under control, or you'll be paying for it later.
2. When you gain a new follower, only to see that it's your mom with her new Instagram.
Some mom's are hip to Instagram, while others not so much. Whether you let her follow you is your choice, but try to give them some Insta-love! Be their first (and maybe only) follower.
3. When your number of likes finally goes from 99 to 100.
No one likes to be left with 99 or 199 (if that's the case) likes on their photo. Getting to a solid, even number makes all the difference in the Instagram game.
4. When you follow someone, and they don't follow you back.
It's a sad moment when the "follow back" rule doesn't apply to you.
5. When you're debating on whether or not you should post that picture of yourself.
Whatever!
6. When someone is always the first person to like your picture.
Hey, someone has to be the first one!
7. When there's always that one person who comments on everyone's selfies.
Compliments are great though ... keep it up!
8. When you lose a follower.Sometimes looking at the "Instagram followers" app can make this moment a lot more sad for some people.
9. When people you meet in person look way different from their Instagram.
Maybe they're just super photogenic? Wait ... I thought you had brown hair?
10. When your best friends comment sarcastic things on your picture.
Who doesn't love a friend that embarrasses you in person and on Instagram?
So as you can see, Instagram has its perks and its flaws. Don't let these stop you from constantly using the app though! It is a great way to keep in touch, stay entertained, and do some "non-creepy" stalking! Insta on.
