The Most Inspirational Quotes From "Harry Potter"
Troy Jarrell

If you’re anywhere in your teens or older, you have definitely grown up with the "Harry Potter" series in your life, whether it’s the books or the movies. Some people think, “Oh, it’s just a kid’s book series,” but what they don’t realize is that there is some great advice written in those pages and in the movies.

“It is our choices that show us what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”

You don’t need to have skills to show what kind of a person you are, you just need to do your best and be humble.

“We all must face the choice between what is right and what is easy.”

This is a great one, it’s very difficult to choose the right path. Obviously taking the easy path will get you where you want to be quicker, but it’s not always the right thing to do.

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

This reminds you that even when you’re down, you should always keep your head up and think positive. Life is what you make it, so why would you make it miserable?

“Working hard is important, but there is something that matters even more: Believing in yourself.”

Believing in yourself is the only way to get something done. You need to believe in yourself to be able to achieve your goals. Yeah, hard work is great, but you can’t accomplish that hard work if you don’t think you can.

“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”

You cannot spend your life thinking of what could be and the endless “What ifs?” You need to remember to live your life and do what makes you happy.

“We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.”

We all have the ability to be good or bad. Acting on one versus the other is what matters in showing others who we are and who we want to be.

“The ones that love us never truly leave us.”

Even when we lose those people who loved us, they’re never really gone. They will continue to live on through you and in your heart.

“Books! And cleverness! There are more important things - friendship and bravery.”

Being smart isn’t the only thing that matters. Yeah, it can help, but friendship and bravery are what matters in the long run. You need to be able to stand up for what you believe in and you need to remember to keep your friends close.

“It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.”

If you’re born with something expected of you, there’s nothing that says you need to grow up to be that thing, you can create your own legacy.

“If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”

What someone is like is not shown by the way they treat those who are the same as them, but how they treat people who have less than them.

“Anything is possible if you’ve got enough nerve.”

As long as you have the nerve to pursue your dreams, anything is possible. Don’t just stop halfway through, keep on going. You can do it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
