I had stopped watching "Grey's Anatomy" after Sloan died and just started up again. At the end of Season 11, I have realized the best couples so far and how much this show has ruined my life. Introducing the newest interns, there's the beautiful Andrew DeLuca that I know ends up with Pierce, but they don't count in this list, mostly because it's too soon and I have yet to watch them. The characters change so much, and I have a love-hate relationship with most of them. Here is my list of the 10 best couples.
10. Owen and Teddy
They may not have been a couple on the show, but they had a past and they understood each other. Maybe this was more of a very close friendship, but I definitely think they belong together in another world.
9. Cristina and Burke
I loved this couple, they were both such strong personalities but they worked so well together. In the long run, I just don't think it was what either of them really wanted or needed in a significant other. Hopefully, someone better comes along for both of them...
8. Bailey and Ben
I love Bailey and I love Ben, but I don't know how I feel about them together. They clearly love each other, but Ben more so than Bailey. He is there for her whenever she needs him and would drop everything for her, even his career. Bailey's number one priority is her own career and her son, so it's easy to see how Ben can love her more.
7. April and Jackson
April is undoubtedly the most obnoxious main character, but I love the two of them together. Jackson isn't one of my favorite characters either, mostly because I don't understand how he even tolerates April. They belong together if Jackson can love her and all her annoying habits, like her nails-on-a-chalkboard voice.
6. Teddy and Henry
Oh my god, I loved Henry so much and I loved Teddy so much. Getting married when they barely knew each other but then falling in love; why did he have to die? Teddy was so happy, she deserved love and he was the one for her!
5. Cristina and Owen
This toxic relationship is full of unspoken thoughts and "I don't know what I want." Ultimately, I think Owen wanting kids and Cristina not being able to give him that and also be content herself is what tore them apart. They really loved each other and definitely always will, but just weren't meant to be. They do have the best makeup moments and the scenes in the vent room hold a special place in my heart forever.
4. Jo and Alex
I know in season 11 this is a relatively new couple and Alex is a player who sleeps with everyone, especially the interns and nurses that aren't even attractive, you know, like Murphy, Brooks, and Olivia from season one. I got so grossed out when he got syphilis and it spread to George but I still love him. I think after all the crap he's been through, Jo is just what he needs.
3. Callie and Sloan
Two of the best characters in this show and the dynamic duo. Technically, they were never romantically involved, but, I mean, they had a kid together. I hate Arizona with all of my being and I think she's selfish and awful even when Callie is trying to help her. Callie lost her best friend, and I believe her soulmate, but Arizona lost her leg and it's the end of the world. Callie and Sloan probably would not have worked as a romantic couple, but they had great sex and their friendship was one of a kind.
2. Derek and Meredith
The whole heart of the show, the two of them are an amazing couple and that's that. The only reason they're No. 2 is because Derek pisses me off when he thinks he knows what's best for everyone and acts like he's a Godly know-it-all and because Shonda ripped my heart in two and killed him off. RIP McDreamy.
1. Lexie and Sloan
Undoubtedly the best couple ever. The way he looks at her when she doesn't even know it, I melt. Through dating and sleeping with the wrong people, they both loved each other. During Lexie's last moments, we see him torn up over her and I can feel my heart break just thinking about it. It's the whole reason I stopped watching the show. It's not fair they both had to die, but I believe they're up in heaven right now loving each other more than anything. McSteamy and Little Grey > McDreamy and Big Grey. Sorry not sorry about that.
