Every morning, as I shuffle my way into work, I buy the same small coffee from the same cashier in the same cafeteria. Each morning, as part of my routine, I ask him how his morning is going and if he has any plans coming up for the weekend. And although he gives me the same speech, I listen to him repeat his plans every single morning. Not because I am particularly interested in hearing about his thrilling poker game with the guys, but because I can tell that it makes his day.
From the moment you wake up to the second you go to bed, you see, talk to and meet so many people throughout your day. Although this is a fact, it almost seems unbelievable because more often than not, we are in such a hurry that we don't have time to have a simple conversation with whoever we are surrounded by. In fact, in a world full of people it is so easy to feel lonely. So next time you're stuck in the elevator with someone or you're buying coffee from a poker playing cashier, ask them how they are doing! Compliment their shirt! Say anything that will start or end their day with a smile. And don't think I forgot about you! Just in case someone hasn't told you today....
Good Morning!
If you are reading this in the morning, whether you're on your way for an intense day at work or you're still cuddled up in bed, I hope you're having a wonderful morning! Enjoy the rest of your day!
You look great today!
You could be dressed to the nines or wearing sweatpants, hair tied and chilin' with no makeup on... either way, you look awesome today! So wherever you go today—Wal-Mart, work, to your refrigerator—strut your stuff because you're killing it.
How are you doing?
How's your day? How's your week? How's your year? I wish nothing but the best for you, and I hope that everything is going just as you planned. And if things aren't going so well and you're having a bad day or life hasn't been, just keep your head up and put a smile on your face! Everything will get better, don't worry!
Good work!
Whether you just closed a deal at work, nailed that standing tuck, made that winning touchdown or just decided to get out of bed this morning and give today a try. You are doing a great job! Achievement isn't always the big things and you can only get to your main goal by accomplishing the little things. So don't be so hard on yourself and keep up the good work because you're doing an amazing job!
Hopefully this made you smile a little bit! And next time you see someone who looks like they could use a little encouragement or just a friend in that moment, just give them a quick compliment or a polite "hello!" Trust me, it may not seem like much to you, but it will mean the world to them.
