What would happen to us in a perfect world?

In A Perfect World
New Parent

Everybody has a purpose, everybody has a reason they're here, everybody has different interests and characteristics that make up who they are. In a perfect world, people wouldn't be shy about who they are, or be too scared to try new hobbies.

Today, we live in a world where we don't get very far without getting judged or looked down on. With social media and the influences of our lives, it's hard to voice your opinion without getting hate or any support. You'll always have your small support system that'll be there for you no matter what, but the rest of the world isn't your oyster, it's your shark. It's what were all scared of. You can call someone your best friend, but they'll be the first person to judge you when you tell them you found a new hobby or are interested in something else.

In a perfect world we wouldn't be looked down on when we voice our opinion, we wouldn't get weird looks when we find something new we enjoy doing, we wouldn't be sent in group chats, and talked about for my Instagram post from 2014. This era for some reason loves to be critical. I'm not sure if I'm alone by saying I hate being criticized, I hate being judged, I hate drawing attention to myself, I hate how I can't do anything without severely being judged.

In a perfect world, we would get out of the house and meet the loves of our lives, instead of sitting behind the screen, swiping left and right on their looks, when we don't know their personality, their story, or what they even truly look like. The social media impact on this world never fails to amaze me. People follow social media like it's their job, and I'm guilty of that myself.

I can't say I'm very innocent in this whole situation; we're all guilty of everything in this article, but I finally stopped in my tracks to realize what is actually going on in this world and how petty this entire world is. You can blame it on the era, but even our parents are guilty of everything. It's crazy how social media and everything has shaped our world. It has its amazing features and it has its negative downside. There will always be that negative side, partially from our era, but mostly because that's how this era was raised and how we were taught.

People can agree, or disagree with this article, but all I'm trying to get at is that we spread so much hate across this world- it's becoming our nature and were so caught up in it that we can't even stop and realize what we're doing.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
