" Grey's Anatomy" is a favorite of many because of its drama filled OR rooms and relationships, but what not many realize, is that through the drama there are some life lessons. We get to be an outsider on the lives of hospital interns and the other staff members, and with many twists and turns, we never really know what we're going to get. With everything that goes on in these characters lives, there's a lot to learn.
No matter what our background is, we can do whatever we set our mind to.
Izzie Stevens was raised in a trailor park, and was told that she would work at a diner for a living, however, she set out to follow her dreams. Through medical school, Izzie worked as a model to make sure that she didn't have any debt by the time she was done. Although other interns found out about her modeling and made fun of her for it, she was proud that she was debt free and breaking away from what her past living situation said about her.
Never let mistakes stop you
In the show, many mistakes happened. From patients dying to relationships turning sour, many of the interns have faced situations that tear them down. They learn from the mistakes they made and move on with confidence that they can and will do better next time. Through the trials and consequences, they know that they will wind up exactly where they belong.
Everything can change at any moment
Be thankful for what you have, in this very moment. Things can be drastically different 5 seconds from now, and although scary, its life and we need to always keep that in mind. Live life to the fullest now, so that when things change, you don't have any regrets.
Tell those you love, ''I love you"
Everyone dies, and no one can be certain when they will see their loved ones next, or if they will. There is a bug uncertainty in life, and in this show. It seems like in nearly every episode we see someone die and the hardship it displays on their loved ones. We are reminded that we always have to remember to tell our friends and family that we love them, because you never know when it will be the last "I love you".
Friendship is important
There are many situations in life that just can't be done alone. Everyone faces difficulties that are too much to bear, making a strong support system much needed. What I love about the characters in the show is that they display friendship. They show that in times of need, we should try and support each other no matter what it takes. Be like Christina and Meredith, have a person (or two, or three, or a thousand).
