Why It's Important To Be A Good Person

Even when everyone understands why you wouldn't be.

Why It's Important To Be A Good Person

If I could give one piece of advice to the old me, it would be that people are going to hurt you but don't make that a reason to be as low as them.

You're going to get let down throughout your life; especially by people you wouldn't expect it from. Most people find this as an excuse to why they are now so emotionless and cold-hearted, but just because you have been hurt by someone does not mean that you should drop down to that level.

Now, I'm not saying that this means you should let people walk all over you, definitely do not let this happen. Let people know that what they did hurt you but instead of being upset and angry over this, be a good person. No matter what negative things life throws at you, always be a good person because no one is going to look back on you and have anything poor to say about you if you're more valued than that.

People have told me on multiple occasions that they are surprised that I put up with the amount of crap I do and I let people get away with. But the thing is I'm not letting anyone get away with anything and I'm also not putting up with anything. I've accepted the fact that not everyone is going to be as generous as me and some make it their goal to tear others down. There is no point in letting this effect me to the extent that I remain angry about it and hold a grudge. Instead, I let others know they have let me down and I move on past it. I did nothing wrong and I have no guilt to live with, they on the other hand do.

So always be kind to others, regardless of what they have done to you. In the end you'll be able to sleep at night much better than they can and you'll also live a much happier life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
