Patience is not my virtue...
If there is one thing I know for sure it is that I have zero patience especially when it comes to waiting for these things in particular:
1. A text back
It honestly is not that hard to see the text, and respond. I know that you are on your phone constantly so please, spare me and forget about texting rules and text me back as soon as you see my message because believe me I will double, triple or quadruple text you.
2. To see the person you have interest in
The anticipation of talking to someone is already a lot and so when you are planning that perfect time with each other you're excited. The part that sucks is that it is so close but SOOO far away and the worst part this waiting game is during a school break.
3. In line to buy clothes
Like why can’t every single lane in Walmart be open or why can’t self check out be a thing in every single store? I do not have the patience or shopping time to wait for you and your full cart of groceries, sorry grandma.
4. For another season of your favorite television show
The writers do a very good job at ending a season and leaving you to wonder what can happen next. The worst part is if you are watching it real time you are more than likely going to have to wait at least 3 months to start watching the next season. This is the only reason that I watch tv shows on Netflix so that I can binge watch and not have to wait for the next season.
5. For your next paycheck
Ugh, this is one of the worst. Like why are bi-weekly paydays a thing?? If I am working I do not want to work for two weeks and then get my pay -- I want to get the pay for the hours I worked that week right then and there. Otherwise I somehow have to make my lousy paychecks last for two weeks, or I spend all my money and then I have to wait for the next 2 Fridays.
6. To get off of work
Speaking of money...waiting to get off of work is the literal worst. Like COME ON… do I really have to sit at this phone for the last 15 minutes of the office day.. we know that no one will call and if they do.. WHY are they calling 15 minutes before the work day is over?? How inconsiderate can people be??
7. For the next meal
I don’t know about you but as soon as I eat breakfast all I can think about is what I am eating for lunch. There is nothing more satisfying than thinking about the hot ham and cheese sandwich that you will eat at noon. It just sucks that it is not socially acceptable to eat all day long.. but instead we have to wait to eat our three meals of the day.
8. For your workout to end
When I get on the elliptical and I see that have 59 minutes left of just my cardio workout...I cringe. There are only so many songs and so many Netflix episodes that someone can watch while working out in order wait for that cardio stopwatch to hit 00:00.
9. For Mother Nature’s gift
It doesn’t matter if you have been doing things to influence it being late or not... waiting for that time of the month is always the worst. Has it been 28 days yet?? It feels like eternity… whatever the wait may be, as soon as it hits, the waiting game begins again..
10. For the red light to turn green
Is it just me or do those red lights last at least two minutes longer than the green ones?? Especially when you get to a big intersection and just hit the red light? I swear you can wait at least 5 minutes until you can even think about turning on green and then that gets you stuck in traffic… don’t even get me started on traffic…
11. For your coffee to cool down
Like why does it ALWAYS have to be scalding hot as soon as you get it through the drive through?? Can’t there be like a “medium hot” setting on the coffee machine? When I get my coffee I’m exhausted already but I have to wait at least 7 minutes in order to drink what little caffeine I have to get a boost for the day.
12. For your food at a restaurant
I know that there are other customers in the place too, but like it only takes 6 minutes to make a grilled cheese sandwich. Why am I paying for something that I know I can make at home so easily but instead I'm left here for someone else to make my food?
13. For your online order to come to the door
It doesn't matter if you ordered off of Amazon Prime or from a website in China...the wait still seems the same. Like why does online shopping have to be both so convenient and inconvenient at the same time? I just bought what I wanted, the money was already taken out of my account so... WHY CAN’T I HAVE MY CLOTHES NOW.
14. To get from one place to another
Like seriously we are in the 21st century, why isn’t teleportation a thing yet? I don’t care if I am traveling to Europe or 3 hours away by car, waiting to get to the next step on my itinerary has to be cut down somehow.
15. At the doctor's office
I swear there is something in the rule books that you have to wait at least 30 minutes at any doctor's office. Like if you wanted my appointment to be at 9:00 don’t make me be here by 8:00 to wait to get into a room and then wait for you to come check me out for 10 minutes. My time is precious and I don’t want to spend it by sick people!!
16. For your alarm to go off
You know when you wake up like 15 minuets before your alarm goes off and you’re like YES?! I can sleep more!!! Then you try to close your eyes and you can’t even try to rest. You know that if you get up now you’re just going to be more tired throughout the day, but you can’t even seem to catch a break. And as soon as you do, DINNNNG, time to get up and then you have to wait for your next nap…
17. Instagram likes
Celebrities can post their pictures and within 5 minutes they already have over 1000 likes. Meanwhile, when you post a pic you can't help but to check your IG account in hopes to have at least 1 like per minute, or even a good ratio to follower quota. I mean come on, I thought my pic was really cute, but now I have to wait for all of you people to think so too!!
18. For teachers to post grades
I took that test on Friday, and you’re telling me that you can’t put the scores up until 2 weeks later?!!! That’s just lazy on the professor’s part. I studied for weeks (okay maybe 2 days) for this exam, it’s the least that they can do is put the grade in so that you know whether to celebrate with a lot of alcohol or fill your sorrows with a lot of alcohol.
19. For your car to heat up or cool down
Right now the temperature is below zero and so is my car. I should not have to be frozen for my entire 15 minute ride to work to wait for my car to heat up. Also, going against that it takes just as long for the cold air to turn on in the summer. Again, we are in the 21st century people why is there not an instant solution to this problem.
20. For your mom or dad to call you back
Whether I am dying or just want to talk. You are my parent and I expect that you call me back right away. Like seriously, I call you back as soon as I can, so don’t you leave me waiting around all day for a phone call, that is just annoying!
