Change.
You know this about it:
- Yes, I understand it has to happen.
And that it is:
- Yes, I understand it is important.
And that you don't:
- No, I don't have control over everything but...
And that's where I seem to stop the argument in my stubborn mind, what about yours?
Yes change is inevitable, we all know that. In no way does that factoid make anything any easier. As human beings, we are told to embrace change. This often is referring to a change that is seen as negative or uncomfortable, and we're supposed to "make the most of it" and maybe even "find ourselves in the process."
While I agree with all of that 100 percent, it still sometimes doesn't make anything any easier. In the midst of change comes anger and conflict, and in the beginning moments of change, we don't want to foresee any positive potential. That is where change is a little sneaky. Before our eyes, as we learn to accept the fact that we are not 100 percent in control of what life has in store for us, we begin to realize that we need to keep moving forward in life. It may be uncomfortable for a short while, but we will inevitably adapt.
If you take anything away from this small idea of mine, I hope that it is influence enough to rest easy. Change may be terrifying, but you are strong enough to take change as it comes and grow with it.
Keep on growing.
