Your first love in life will be your mother. She is the one that supplies you with the basic needs to survive. For the most part, she will be that one individual who will not judge you and will always care about your well-being. This is an important relationship that you should not want to sever.
Somewhere down the road, however, things will change. You grow older and try to figure out your life. Don’t let those things break your relationship.
I’m not the best child, nor do I pretend that I am. I’m not a perfect human being. I think that I do a lot of things right, but I know that I mess up sometimes.
Here is an apology list for you, Mom, to make up for it.
1. I’m sorry that I didn’t clean my room.
I’m sorry that you had to tell me to do things multiple times. I just didn’t inherit your gift for cleanliness or organization. I thought that sweeping everything under my bed was the same thing as cleaning. Out of sight, out of mind!
2. I’m sorry that I snuck out of the house at night.
Can you blame me? I was a teenager. If you didn’t know that I did, then this is a joke…
3. I’m sorry that I didn’t listen to you.
I think that this one is pretty self-explanatory. Everything just goes in one ear and out of the other. I have the attention span of a fish.
4. I’m sorry that I grew up so fast.
I don’t understand how it feels knowing that your little baby boy is growing up, but I assume it’s a bittersweet feeling. I know that I’m horrible to live with.
5. I’m sorry that my attitude wasn’t the best.
This could— and should— have been expected. I get my attitude from you, according to our entire family.
6. I’m sorry for posting embarrassing photos and videos of you on Facebook.
Well, I’m actually not sorry about this one. They’re quite hilarious.
7. I’m sorry for eating all of the snacks.
I couldn’t help it. I still can’t.
8. I’m sorry that I didn’t say I love you enough.
That’s one thing that I wish I could go back and change, if it were possible. You never know how much time you have left with your loved ones.
I’m sorry that I never appreciated you as much as I should have growing up. I love you, Mommy!
