We have all heard it before, "New Year, New Me!" People everywhere are trying out their new years resolutions, whether it be something like being a nicer person or a famous one, or hitting the gym. More people make them every year. The bad part is almost every year these fail and we revert to our former behaviors of lounging on the couch and doing nothing. I know we have all been there before, but there are some people that have stuck to their resolutions and I would like to be one. My New Year's resolutions were to become more academically successful and to become healthier. I've told myself again and again that it can't be like other years where I try for a few days and then forget. I'm holding myself accountable this year and I have a friend with similar goals and we are helping to push each other (shoutout to Erin). So now I'm going to tell you why it is going to be successful in an attempt to convince myself even further that I can and will be able reach my goals.
One main reason I know that I know I can reach my goals is because I'm not doing it alone. I have a friend and we push each other to go to the gym and to study as much as possible. Another reason I know it can happen is because we have made ourselves accountable to the world, myself personally through this article and jointly through an Instagram account (babs_laganjas_rise2mediocrity follow us!). By telling our goals to the internet we have made a social pressure on ourselves, whether it's really there or not we don't know but we can feel it. And the last reason I know that I can reach my goals is because I know myself and I control my actions and if I really want something I make it possible, and I am going to make this possible. So I will leave you with this, if you are looking to achieve your goals try and find a friend who will work with you and just try your hardest . If you truly try your best at something then you cant ask more from yourself, and no matter the result you will know that you tried your hardest and sometimes that is a reward all in its own.
