I Not Only Love Cats But My Personality Is Just Like A Cat's

Yes, it means more than you think.

So I'm a cat person. Most people already knew this. If my self-proclaiming "indoor cat" motto didn't give it away then my cat jewelry bowl, cat mugs or cat ring might solidify it (all gifts I might add).

When I say this it doesn't just mean I like cats; which is obviously true. I'm not very high energy, I'm more on the calm side, and I don't show off my emotions as much as others. I like to take risks but I thoughtfully plan out my actions and I'm a little on the lazier side, much like a cat.

On the other side, there are dog people. More high energy, more social, a little more spontaneous and maybe not as thoughtful. There are a lot of ways to identify yourself and I've come to realize that saying I'm a cat person sheds a lot of light on who I am.

I believe it's crucial to know yourself. To know who you are, your strengths and faults, and the essence of what makes you, you. So to me, knowing that I'm a cat person actually says a lot more than simply which animal I want to curl up with at night.

To me, this says that I'm more introverted, maybe not as outgoing, but very pensive and curious. I like to try new things, explore and take big leaps in all areas of my life. But I don't do so without a lot of planning.

I'm not as outdoorsy or physical as other people but that doesn't mean I can't go camping or hiking. I'm just a bit more fragile, but it pays to know this about myself.

"No really I'm such a cat person, my cat even matches my hair it was just meant to be that I am secretly a cat on the inside."

Okay, that's a little weird to say I understand, but it says a lot about me.

You need to be confident in who you are, what your passions are and how you go through the world. Not everyone will understand you, and not everyone will like you either. But that's alright, as long as you're true to yourself. Now not everyone likes cats, that's pretty well known. So not everyone will decide that I fit in with them.

After years of being the crazy cat lady in the making, I accepted it. It doesn't matter if I'm not everyone's cup of tea, and it doesn't mean that I can't branch out to new people with drastically different personalities than my own because that's what's so exciting about other people; they're not like you.

I'm constantly being shown new ideas, new ways of thinking, new senses of humor and windows into other parts of life. My life would be boring without the other dog and cat personalities I have surrounding me.

It's taken a while to understand myself but I've come to love the crazy cat lady that I am. Knowing who you are and what you want makes a huge difference in navigating life. Being confident in yourself is all you need.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
