Garth Brooks got it right. Life is unpredictable, and I've lost too many people in my lifetime to go carefree throughout my life without the concept of how precious time truly is on my mind constantly. It's a scary idea, death, but a thought that should at least make us rethink and prioritize what is important to us.

What if you got in your bed tonight and pulled those warm covers up to your chin only to never wake up? What if. What if. What if. Life is fragile and time isn't something that we'd be wise to gamble with. We never know how much of it we have, so why do we waste it so carelessly by putting off the things we should be doing or that we want to be doing? Why do we waste a full minute of happiness for 60 seconds of anger and how is that a fair trade? The question we must ask ourselves is what are we waiting for and if it would be worth it to risk it.

Go for it. Do whatever it is that you have been putting off. Take that day off from work that you deserve to go on that trip you've been meaning to go on for ages. Ask that special someone out on a date. Say 'I love you' and say it again. Don't let your true feelings go unrevealed. Why should we go throughout our lives without letting those important to us know that they're important to us? Don't let someone walk around this world thinking that they're unloved. Spread love and not hate. Make someone else's day. Pay close attention to those around you. Be the blessing they may need. Stay positive. Work out. Eat the dang donut. Spend more time counting your blessings than you do worrying about the things that you might lack. Get up early and watch the sun rise. Take a break to watch it set. Enjoy the little things because one day you'll look back and realize that they meant more than you could have ever imagined.

Life is hard. Life is cruel. Life is fragile, unpredictable and doesn't often provide second chances, but life can be beautiful if only we would take the time to see it. No one ever said that it would be easy, but that's what makes it worth it. Each day that you wake up is a new opportunity and you have to take advantage of it. If you don't, you'll spend the rest of your life thinking about what might've been and living with regret. Live your life and live it to the greatest potential it could possibly have, and know that only you can determine that.

How much time we have on this earth isn't what's important; it's what we make of that time that matters the most.

"So tell that someone that you love just what you're thinking of, if tomorrow never comes." -Garth Brooks

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
