While some may be quick to judge that the fraternities on Frat Row only care about raising the roof and bar tabs every weekend, stop and think again.
The UF Interfraternity Council has been working hard and dedicating their time planning campus wide events this semester. They are proud to bring their 6th annual Chicken Wing Charity Thing (CWCT) once again on March 12th from 5-7 P.M. on Flavet Field.
Everyone on Frat Row will be a cooking up a storm to prepare 15,000 chicken wings from scratch to serve to attendees. While the frats from IFC compete to make only the best tasting chicken wings, the ladies of the PanHellenic Council (PC) will vie for the title of the tastiest sweet treats. In addition, IFC is proud to welcome organizations from the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) and National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) who will be providing refreshments and other sides to complement the variety of wings and desserts. Chicken Wing Charity Thing will be a philanthropic event to unite the UF community.
Because of the great success in past years, tickets to CWCT will go on presale for a price of only $10 including a T-shirt! Don’t miss out on receiving a CWCT tee as presale ends on February 26th. Tickets will sold for $8 at the door. All the money raised from Chicken Wing Charity Thing will be donated to UF Dance Marathon and the Children’s Miracle Network. Be sure to take part in an enjoyable night of good food and company as IFC strives to raise $10,000 for the kids this year!
As Spring Break is now nearer than ever, take the opportunity to also get rid of last season’s fashions or any old gently worn or used clothing to donate to IFC’s Clothing Drive going on now. Collection ends on March 20th. Feel free to drop off all donations at any IFC chapter house, Hume and Graham Commons, or the Office of Student Activities and Involvement on the 3rd floor of the Reitz Union. Any and all donations are welcome and will go to benefit St. Francis House, Salvation Army, and Grace Marketplace. This year, IFC hopes to raise 6,000 articles of clothing. For more information or to arrange a box to be dropped off or collected from your organization, contact Service Coordinator, Stephen Schwartz, at stephen94@gmail.com.
Get ready for the start of spring and show IFC your support by participating in these big events!
