If You Were A Supernatural Being, How Would You Change The World?

If you had certain superpowers, how would you impact the human race?

If You Were A Supernatural Being, How Would You Change The World?

We all had that one dream, ever since we were kids, of becoming super heroes. Having awesome powers such as flight, telekinesis, super strength, elemental manipulation, etc. It seemed so fun and delightful to embody a super hero, to have the abilities that they did. We all liked the thought of doing something more cool, being cooler than the ordinary humans that we already were, especially after watching those good old cartoons about Superman and Batman and any other Justice League Member or anyone from the X-Men Clan.

However, not all of us has desired to be super heroes, maybe many just wanted supernatural powers just for the fun of it, meaning for their own personal gain or reasons. That’s not to say that some might have wanted to become villains, but it begs the question, what would you do if you had super powers? If you were a supernatural being how would you use your powers? Would you fight to stop crime and implement global justice? Or would you just use your powers for your own needs?

First if all, let’s be real. If you emerged forth with supernatural powers, you would be discriminated against (to a certain degree), implicated by governmental authority, regarded by some as a threat to the human race, or you would be considered as a savior depending on what good you do. But I guess it’s all about perspective.

Secondly, if you were to battle any potential forces that confronted and threatened you, you could cause some collateral damage and some casualties within your surroundings, most likely. Consequently, you would also be held (somehow) accountable by the administrative protocol that you probably had to have broken.

Additionally, you would or could be exploited. Yep, that could be the sad truth. Think about it. You’ve got such an awesome power that you’ve attracted so much attention to the extent that some secret division of an intelligence agency is willing to hire, or coerce you into working for them under special circumstances, mainly saying that, "You would be serving your country," (just saying and listing a possibility). You may even be sought out for experimentation by some clandestine scientific think tank.

Yep, like I said…possibilities…

But more importantly, how would you make use of your powers?

Would you use telepathy to figure out what other people were thinking all the time? Hm…maybe it might be too much information…

But what if you were recruited by some military affiliation to ascertain the strategic schemes of the enemies and use that information against them? Or maybe you would use mind control to tell your professor to cancel an upcoming exam.

Would you use telekinesis to help create and construct better foundation and infrastructure for the least developed regions of the world?

Would you use elemental powers to help the environment?

Would you use the extrasensory perception (ESP) powers to further expand a ‘scientific discipline’ that was once thought unlikely to happen?

Would you use the power of healing to cure diseases and counteract all forms of illness?

We’re only human. We are nature’s most advanced and empathetic cyborgs to exist on Earth and maybe in our known part of the universe (yes, I may be referring to any terrestrial beings out there). We have intelligence, innovation, and the means to accomplish anything. Any more use of our power past our own good, we probably would be abusing it. Nevertheless, it never hurts to use your creative and wild imagination and dwell into our inner child.

If you had a supernatural power, what would it be?

But remember, with great power comes great responsibility.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
