I am sure if we were given the chance, we would all like to go back and redo something in our lives. I mean, we are in a time where we are always making mistakes and challenging ourselves. I wanted to share this article about myself and how learning from my mistakes has helped me grow.
I graduated from my high school in 2015 and graduated with highest honors. I was also a Tennessee Scholar’s recipient along with having being an active member of National Honor’s Society and being an officer in my school’s Spanish National Honor’s Society. I took AP Spanish and AP Biology and was also an active member of Key Club. My GPA stayed about a 3.7 all year and I had a high ranking in my class of over 300 students. Everyone thought I would do great in college and so did I. Fall semester I was working and going to college and did not seem to think about my grades. I thought naturally I was doing great since I glided through high school. All of a sudden it was the end of my first year at college, and I had only scraped two or three As. I got one B and the rest were Ds and Cs.
It did not hit me until I walked downstairs and my dad told me I lost my HOPE scholarship and that we were going to be struggling with financial aid. I explained that was impossible since I have a high GPA of a 3 point something. He explained my GPA was a 2.4. I realized I HAD to change and get back on track. I know I can’t redo it, but I can try getting back to where I once was. College is a time to try new things and make friends. SO BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE and never look back!
