If I Could Be A Superhero

A 24-hour inside peak into my alter-ego's life.

Having superpowers would be an opportunity to make the world better. I believe all superheroes should have powers to help the common good. They should not be selfish with their powers nor should they use their powers to control others. If I was a superhero my astonishing superhero powers would be to travel back in time without creating loopholes, being able to read people’s minds, being able to be invisible at night and being able to get anywhere by snapping my fingers. With these powers, I could go back to visit the prodigious and dreadful points in human history to learn from them. I can help others by knowing what to say to make them feel better. I could help when people are in trouble right away. When I am invisible, only my shadow is seen so I do the mystery work at night.

The main part of my costume would be a purple dress that is sleeveless. It would be a sparkle V-neck, and have a flowing skirt. I would wear silver leggings and black sneaker boots.I would have silver wings that allowed me to be invisible when I went back into time. When I don’t need them, the wings flow into a secret pocket in my dress in the back. My hair would be in a bun, pulled back so it will not be in my way. My costume would be beautiful but practical.

The typical day for me would be waking up at noon.I could at once know if someone needed help because I can read people’s minds just by focusing on the world’s brains. When I locate a person in need, I imagine where they are and in a second I am there next to them. I do this until the late afternoon when the shadows are at their longest. Then at that point, I merge into being a regular human and go find some food to eat. When it is dusk and the moon is out, I decide where to visit in history. Being invisible of course, I stay witnessing that time period or event, until the darkest part of the night. Even if the history event is more than one year, I can witness it all in a few hours. I sort of have a power that can freeze time when I am gone but in the mortal world, time still happens regularly. I guess I can speed up the past. In the early morning hours, I do random good acts that will assist people again. They are actions that I must stay hidden for or else the spotlight would always be on me. At five in the morning, I fall sleep for about 7 hours until noon when I start my day all over again. My work is exhausting but enjoyable and worth it in the end.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
