If College Majors Were BBQ Foods

If college majors were foods at a BBQ, which food would you eat? Are you a hotdog or more of a hamburger fan? Do you like chips & dip more or less than the veggie platters? Here is a table full of BBQ foods and the college majors they represent!

1. Baked Beans- Chemistry.

Baked beans require a more complex recipe than most. It has a lot of ingredients that need to go into it that makes it just right. Just like baked beans, Chem majors have a certain thing about them that makes them want to follow the rules of science!

2. BBQ Chicken- Education

BBQ chicken has a TON of different varieties, you can do baked, grilled, and smoked. You can add spices and herbs as you go or in the beginning, it's a learning process. Education majors are kinda like BBQ chicken, they can do a ton of different things, in a ton of different ways, and teach you how to do it!

3. Chips & Dip- Undecided.

There are a bunch of different chip flavors, and dip combos out there! If you're undecided don't fret, you'll find the perfect major eventually!

4. Corn On The Cob- Psychology.

How do you eat your corn? Do you put skewers on the end? Do you eat it from side to side, or start from the middle? Do you shave the corn off the cob and eat it that way? Do you add butter and salt? How you eat your corn cob might tell you something about the way you think or feel.

5. Hamburgers- History.

Hamburgers have been a staple in BBQ history for a long long time. You can add whatever you like, lettuce, tomato, onions, ketchup. Just like history majors, they're known for being versatile!

6. Hot Dogs- Art/Theater.

Just like theater and art majors, hotdogs aren't afraid to put themselves out there! Hot dogs can be used and made into a plethora of different things. Theater and art majors are just as versatile with their skills!

7. Kebabs- Architecture.


Kebabs and architecture students both need structure in their life (pun intended). Kebabs need to be made perfectly or they will slide and crumble, and who is better to make kebabs than an architect student?

8. Pulled Pork- Mathematics.

The pork doesn't need to be pulled and shredded in a precise or particular way, but it WILL taste better if you start directly in the center of the pork by findings its radius and circumference.

9. Salad- Anthropology.

Anthropology and salad are both integral staples in a meal and life. Anthropology often teaches about diversity in more than one way. Salads represent diversity in so many ways, the types of greens, the tomatoes, onions, croutons, chicken, etc. Anthropology is a salad bowl of diversity.

10. Steak- Business.

Steak is one of the most well-known BBQ foods out there, it's straightforward but still complex. But, just like business, there will always be debates about how it should be made, rare, medium rare, well done?

11. Veggies- Nursing.

The healthiest food for the healthiest majors! Veggies have to be adaptable to work with other foods, Nursing majors have to be adaptable to many idfferent situations, like lack of sleep, tons of work, no free time!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
