9 Iconic Pumpkin Things You'll Love This Fall

While we may be taking it a little too far with making everything pumpkin-themed during the fall, you can't hate the classic and amazing pumpkin things that are just too good to dislike and give up.

When I was a kid, I literally used to eat pumpkin seeds straight out of the pumpkins we carved for our front porch without washing them and I think that is where my pumpkin obsession began. Today, I love fall a whole lot, but my love is definitely enhanced by the copious amount of pumpkin products that are seasonally restocked on shelves and in stores everywhere.

Call me basic, but as I told y'all I've been on this trend since I was six or seven years old, so don't hate me as I rave about some of the best pumpkin things fall has to offer us.

1. Pumpkin Spice Latte.

How could I start this list without the most iconic white girl drink of all? Regardless of what the PSL has turned into and all the hype or hate surrounding it, it is undoubtedly delicious. Iced Starbucks PSL's literally cannot compare to anything and as a Florida girl who loves her some iced coffee drinks, this gives me just enough fall to pretend that there are seasons here without making me sweat to death. If you cant get your hands on a PSL, there are plenty of amazing pumpkin/pumpkin spice flavored coffees, and coffee creamers that are a good alternative, but no OG Pumpkin Spice Latte.

2. Pumpkin Bread.

One of my all-time favorite delicacies, pumpkin bread has this unbeatable soft texture with a nice cinnamon undertone that is to die for. When it's right out of the oven and you eat it warm, there is nothing that beats it. My favorite is when there are chocolate chips in the pumpkin bread: 10/10 would recommend. I am quite literally on the verge of tears thinking about a warm pumpkin bread loaf coming out of the oven right now. Picture it. You're welcome.

3. Pumpkin Pie.

A Thanksgiving spread just wouldn't be complete without this sweet treat. I'm more of a cake girl myself, so pumpkin pie is my one exception. A nice slice with a hearty dollop of whipped cream is the only thing (except for pudding pie) that I have room for post-Thanksgiving feast. I will make room for pumpkin pie regardless of how full I am every year, even if it means unbuttoning my pants, no shame.

4. Pumpkin Decór.

Between pumpkin scented candles, tiny pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and pumpkins printed onto things, I just cannot get enough of the cute fall vibes pumpkins give off. I will never turn down a cute pumpkin throw pillow/blanket or a cute pumpkin pair of socks ever, so catch me this fall wasting all my money at Target and T.J. Maxx on pumpkin decor.

5. Pumpkin Candy Corn.

Everyone knows what I'm talking about here. You know those Brach's bags of candy corn that are the "Autumn Mix" style? I'm sure you do and you know they have pumpkin-shaped candy corn in there. Obviously, if you aren't a candy corn fan, this one isn't for you, but if you are, buy the Autumn Mix. In my personal opinion, I can only have so many of the pumpkins in one sitting because they're thicker and very sweet, but it's worth it as a snack if you just want a few.

6. Pumpkin Scents.

Candles, air fresheners, and fresh pumpkins, oh my! With fall comes the switch of scents on shelves from tropical breezes to autumn leaves and pumpkin spice. The autumn scents are some of my favorites as they have a calming note to them. I'm not sure if maybe that hint of cinnamon is supposed to have calming effects on you, but there is something about a nice pumpkin fall scent that I just love.

7. Pumpkin Seeds.

These are good raw, baked, topping something, eaten plain, whatever. This healthy snack is a fall staple for so many people. Pumpkin seeds are a superfood, so you don't even have to feel bad about divulging into a huge bag of this autumn snack (that can be found year-round, but shh). I love pumpkin seeds all throughout the year, but something just hits different when you eat a nice handful of pumpkin seeds in the fall.

8. "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!"

This may not be an edible treat or snack, but you know you love this movie, and other fall movies, as much as I do. 'Peanuts' never grows old as this film is still super popular and a fall pumpkin classic 53 years later. This film stars Linus and Lucy as they go to the pumpkin patch to prepare for Halloween and they pick the biggest pumpkin. Patty is convinced the "great pumpkin" and the gang go on to trick-or-treat. Patty eventually believes that it is real and the story has a typical 'Peanuts' happy ending.

9. Pumpkin Ale.

I have heard nothing but amazing things about flavored beers, but especially pumpkin ales. When fall comes around, the adults come out to play with more than just their pumpkin-flavored coffee and coffee creamer. Catch any beer drinker at the bar during happy hour with a Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale or a good 'ole classic Shipyard Pumpkinhead.

I wanted to give a special mention to pumpkin pie spice/seasoning and canned pumpkin. They aren't delicious on their own most of the time, but it goes into so many of the pumpkin dishes (like pumpkin pie dip, yum) that we worship when Autumn comes around.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
