We Can Do Something About It.

How Is Hypocrisy apart of Christianity?
Google

I googled up the word "Christianity" in search of finding a definitions. The very first one that popped up was "of relation to, or professing Christianity or its teachings." Jesus said that He came to give us perfect love, peace, freedom from our own destructiveness, and life more abundantly. So why is it, that so many have stone heats against Jesus, if He seems, and if, the exactly what they need? In the root, it comes down to us knowing the father's love for us and our identity in Him.

We all hear about those preachers that always have that weird passion about Hell; they sleep, walk and talk how bad Hell is. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Above all else, guard your heart, because everything flows from it." We must understand that not everyone that says they follow Jesus, really do. We have to be careful who we let pour into our lives and who we get hurt by. If we do get hurt, we have to get rid of it, because it will began to harden our hearts with bitterness. Like older people had a divorce let's say, now they don't trust anyone and think that the world is against them. Those who've been hurt are in desperate need of love. We always blame the sinner for their ways, but it says in the bible that they stumble in the darkness due to their sin. If we are the light, why are we as the church staying in our comfy building? I believe there is some blame on the Church; there needs to be a Jesus movement. When Jesus went and did his ministry, we traveled and hugged the untouchables, he talked to the lying tax payers.

Those who have not encountered Jesus' goodness cannot and will not understand the concept that Jesus is worth it all. Recently, I watched this movie with Todd White. At the bottom of this article is the link to the movie. He did a document of what Christianity is suppose to look like. He said, "For Jesus so loved.. that he GAVE". In the movie, he would go around praying for people that were hurt, walking and listening to Jesus. He would give out huge tips any time he went to a restaurant. Any time he had a chance, he would just spend time with Jesus. This sounds like a radical life. The way that the disciples lived and Jesus lived, we are suppose to as well. The only way we, as the hands and feet of Jesus can heal this broken world, our broken friends, broken family, co-workers, is through love. Knowing who we are in Jesus and knowing Jesus. Jesus didn't just create you to have the American Dream, he has a kingdom dream waiting for you. You were meant to go, be the light, give like no other, pray for those who can't pray for them selves, tell your story; the list goes on. It's a great calling, but it's a calling that isn't easy, but IT'S SO WORTH IT.

Jesus said that he came not to judge the world, but to save it. We as followers of Jesus shouldn't be seen as a religion... why? The world says, "Here, choose any you live: Buddhism, atheism, Christianity, paganism, the list goes on." In Isaiah, God strongly tells who he is. He said there is no other to compare me. If he isn't comparable, why does the world put him in a category? When people see us, they should see Jesus, because we are the hands and feet of Jesus. Jesus came for relationship, not a dead religion. Jesus is the eternal way truth and life. Our lives should whisper to every person we meet, "My life isn't here to judge you, it's here for an invitation for encounter". The way we live and act, should pull something in others, they should be like,"Whatever that person over there has, I want it."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
