Hobart and William Smith Colleges' very own all-female a cappella group, "Three Miles Lost," released a powerful video singing the song ’Til It Happens to You’, written by Lady Gaga and Diane Warren to show that they stand in solidarity against sexual assault, along with their campus.
Lady Gaga is sponsoring a contest called "Sing for Survivors" in conjunction with the "It's On Us" organization to put an end to sexual assault. The contest consists of a cappella groups from all across the country creating their own arrangement of the song and creating a video using their campus. The video has gone viral on HWS's campus, already has 32,000 views on YouTube in 48 hours, including a comment from Jacki Zehner, who is one of the many Executive Producers of the film The Hunting Ground, and commented on the video saying, "I want you to know that the whole team has seen this. I cannot speak on behalf of everyone, but on behalf of me, thank you. May this be an example for all Universities. Your talent is amazing." And lastly, the most exciting shoutout of them all, Lady Gage herself, tweeted "Watch them as they rise up. SURVIVORS all around you. You won't believe it #TillItHappensToYou" with the Youtube video.
The members of "Three Miles Lost" are so thrilled with how far the video has already come in such a short period of time and want to urge people to continue to keep sharing it with everyone they know so that way they can reach a much wider audience. Please watch, vote, and share!
